Hier dimanche c'était repos, y compris pour la communication satellite : une batterie est morte et l'autre n'était pas assez chargée. Ce fut donc une journée repos et rami.
Ce lundi toute l'équipe était censée partir vers le camp 1 mais la météo une fois de plus défavorable (il neige) les a conduit à remettre à demain le projet. En revanche le camp de base (5700 m) a reçu une visite insolite : pendant la nuit, un léopard a tourné autour des tentes et plus spécialement de la tente mess attiré par l'odeur de la viande !
Demain, si tout va bien, Lhakpa, Passang, Purna et nos trois amis vont partir dormir au camp (6300 m) où 3 tentes sont installées. Ils prévoient ensuite de faire un aller retour vers le camp 2 pour y installer 2 tentes. A suivre donc !
En dehors de cela les hommes du Makalu ont appris la triste nouvelle du décès de la très grande chanteuse corse Maryse Nicolaï. Très affectés par cette disparition ils se joignent par la pensée à la douleur de tous les Corses et la famille de Maryse.

Yesterday Sunday was resting for everyone, including for satellite communication: one battery is dead and the other was not loaded enough. So it was a day for resting and playing rummy.
This Monday the team was supposed to go to camp 1 but the weather that was once again unfavorable (it’s been snowing) resulted in their having to postpone the project. On the other hand the base camp (5 700 m) received an unusual visit: during the night, a leopard hanged around the tents and more especially of the mess tent ,attracted by the smell of the meat! Tomorrow, if all goes well, Lhakpa, Passang, Purna and our three friends will go and sleep at the camp (6300 m) where 3 tents have been installed. Then they are planning to make a return trip to Camp 2 to pitch 2 tents. To be followed then!
Apart from all this, the men of Makalu have heard the sad news of the death of the great Corsican singer Maryse Nicolai. They are very much affected by this death they join the Corsicans and Maryse’s family, in spirit, during this time of grief.
